Cullman Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric cooperative serving residential, commercial and industrial members in Cullman, Morgan, Lawrence and Winston counties. Cullman EC was incorporated in 1936, serving 350 members with 30 miles of electrical line. Today, the co-op has more than 42,000 member accounts and maintains more than 3,300 miles of line.

Cullman EC has approximately 100 full-time employees in positions that include linemen, staking technicians, engineering, equipment mechanics, purchasing and stores, accounting, finance, marketing, communications, information technology, metering and collections, theft prevention and investigation, cashiering, member service representatives, human resources, administrative and supervision/management positions. Qualifications, education, and experience necessary can vary depending on the specific job requirements. 


Cullman Electric Cooperative, a progressive electric cooperative located in North Alabama, is seeking highly qualified, talented and motivated applicants for the positions of Superintendent of Field Services and Superintendent of Operations.

The individual in the position of Superintendent of Field Services will be responsible for planning, directing and supervising activities required to design, operate and maintain Cullman Electric Cooperative’s distribution system. 

The individual in the position of Superintendent of Operations will be responsible for planning, directing and supervising activities required to construct, operate and maintain Cullman Electric Cooperative’s distribution system and fleet management.

The successful candidate in both positions should have an Associates’ degree in Science from an accredited two-year college and a minimum of ten (10) years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTS

Competencies for these positions include the ability to collect and research data, work well in group problem solving situations and coordinate projects.  Must also work with integrity, uphold organizational values, and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required include excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Windows based software for word processing, spreadsheet, work order processing and scheduling as well as GIS, OMS and AVL.   The Superintendent of Field Services should also have working knowledge of AutoCAD.  Candidates must demonstrate excellent skills in communication, public relations, and leadership and possess the ability to work as a team member. 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:

SUPERINTENDENT OF FIELD SERVICES:  Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Driver’s License and a valid CPR and First Aid Card. 

SUPERINTENDENT OF OPERATIONS:  Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Commercial Driver’s License of the appropriate type and class and a valid CPR and First Aid Card.  Must possess a Journeyman Lineman Certification.
