Cullman Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric cooperative serving residential, commercial and industrial members in Cullman, Morgan, Lawrence, and Winston counties. Cullman EC was incorporated in 1936, serving 350 members with 30 miles of electrical line. Today, the co-op has more than 42,000 member accounts and maintains more than 3,300 miles of line.
Cullman EC has approximately 100 full-time employees in positions that include linemen, staking technicians, engineering, equipment mechanics, purchasing and stores, accounting, finance, marketing, communications, information technology, metering and collections, theft prevention and investigation, cashiering, member service representatives, human resources, administrative and supervision/management positions. Qualifications, education, and experience necessary can vary depending on the specific job requirements.
Cullman Electric Cooperative is seeking highly qualified, talented and motivated applicants for the position of Apprentice Warehouse Worker.
An Apprentice Warehouse Worker receives, stores and distributes tools, equipment and products and performs all aspects of coordination for a full-service warehouse. The successful candidate
will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Warehouse experience is preferred.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED INCLUDE: Possess and exhibit the ability and desire to provide prompt, courteous, and reliable services to the cooperative’s members; possess the ability to communicate tactfully and effectively in dealing with the general public, supervisors and co-workers; a mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools, equipment, and machinery; and must be able to work cooperatively and as a team member. Applicants should have knowledge of database software and Windows based computer applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside work with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions with some irregular hours and/or overtime required. Regular standing, stooping, bending, and lifting is required. Must wear company provided uniforms and other required safety equipment.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Must possess valid Alabama Driver’s License with the DOT Medical Card Certification. Must receive CPR, First Aid & ForkLift Certification within probationary period.
