HUG & Utility Bill Assistance

Cullman Electric is dedicated to helping our members find assistance for their electric bill. We offer HUG and Operation Share as a way for members to pay other members utility bills, and can help you get connected with other community resources.

Cullman Electric Cooperative’s Home Utility Gift (H.U.G.) program is a great way to help others by paying for all or part of someone else’s utility bill. The H.U.G. program was started during the 2007 holiday season and has become a year-round chance to help a friend or neighbor.

Give a H.U.G. through the Home Utility Gift Program

The H.U.G. program allows people to help their neighbors or friends who are struggling due to a lost job, the death of a family member, a house fire, or another disaster.

To make a H.U.G. payment on someone's account, you will need to:

  • Call us at 256-737-3200 or stop by our Cullman or Addison Office
  • Provide the person's name. Also, provide their account info, like service address, phone number, and spouse's name.
