How do I become a member of Cullman Electric?

Call 256-737-3200 or visit our offices in either Cullman or Addison

You will need: 

  • •A signed and notarized membership application
  • •State Validated ID
  • •The meter number for the property
  • •If you are renting the property, a signed rental property information form
  • •$350 deposit (This can be waived through a credit check or letter of credit from a previous electric company.) 
    • ‣If you sign up for smartPAY (pre-pay), there is no deposit
I am building a home. What do I need to do to establish electric service, and how much will it cost?

If you are not a member, we will first complete the membership process, and then begin the new construction process.

To begin the process, you will need to bring and have available:

  • • A Membership Application (signed and notarized) 
  • • Line Extension Agreement (signed and notarized) 
  • • Overhead/ Underground Service Requirements (signed and notarized) 
  • • Right of Way Easement (signed and notarized) 
  • • Underground Easement (signed and notarized) 
  • • State Validated ID

We will complete and submit an engineering request to begin the process

A work order will be submitted and a staking technician will visit the property to determine the full cost. 

I am purchasing a new manufactured home. What do I need to do to establish electric service and how much will it cost?

If you are not a member, we will first complete the membership process, and then begin the new construction process.

I just bought a new home. What should I do?

If you are already a member, call 256-737-3200 or visit our office. Let us know your address and meter number.

How do I disconnect service?

Call 256-737-3200 or visit our office. Ask to have service disconnected and taken out of your name. 

How do I transfer my services to a new property?

If you are already a member, call 256-737-3200 or visit our office. Ask to have your services transferred to the new property and provide your address and meter number.

Can I switch to paperless billing?

Yes! Login to your Cullman Electric online account at https://billing.cullmanec.com/cec/login.jsp. Go to the Email/Password section. Click paperless options, and manage your preferences. If you have issues, please call us at 256-737-3200 or complete a contact form.

Can I update my billing and email information?

Yes! Call 256-737-3200 or complete a Contact Us Form. You will hear from us within one business day. 

I tried resetting my username and password, and I still can’t login. Help!

Call 256-737-3200 or complete a Contact Us Form. We will reset it for you and make sure we have the correct email information. 

How do I set up prepay on my account?

If you have had a prepay account before, call 256-737-3200 and ask to have your account switched.

If you have never had prepay, you will have to visit our office during business hours. 

Where can I get a proof of residence letter?

We can help provide proof through a copy of a membership application, your Cullman Electric bill, or a screen print of the account. Just call 256-737-3200 or visit our office. 

I overpaid. Can I get a reimbursement?

We can provide reimbursement in some situations, but it may take up to two weeks to be processed. 

How can I report electrical theft?

Call 256-737-3200, visit our office or complete a Contact Us Form below. 

What information do I need with me when I pay at the Kiosk?

Make sure you have your account number for your electric account and water account. You will need to pay for each part separately. If you need help locating these on your bill, visit our Bill Explanation Guide. 

How do I set up my Cullman Electric Online Account?

To set up your account, visit https://billing.cullmanec.com and click register. You will need your account number, statement ID, and email address. If you need help locating these on your bill, visit our Bill Explanation Guide. 

My water bill is high. What can Cullman Electric do to help?

If you are having problems with your water account, you will need to contact your water department. Cullman Electric only provides the billing for Cullman County Water, Cullman City Water, and Arley Water.

I am having problems with my sanitation service. Should I contact Cullman Electric?

If you have questions about your service, trash pick-up, or issued trash can, you will need to contact your sanitation department directly. Cullman Electric only provides the billing for the sanitation departments that serve our members.
