ADECA Launches Statewide Broadband Telephone Survey
Local community members will soon be able to share challenges with local internet access through the ADECA Broadband Telephone survey.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) is launching a statewide broadband telephone survey to learn more about community members' issues accessing the internet. For Cullman Electric Cooperative members, these phone calls will begin March 31-April 6, 2023.
“This is a great opportunity for Cullman Electric Cooperative members to share their frustrations regarding lack of internet access and affordability,” Brian Lacy, communications & external affairs manager at Cullman Electric Cooperative, said. “By participating in this survey, community members will be helping ADECA better address issues and potentially fund projects that meet the needs of these areas.”
According to ADECA, these survey calls will show up on Caller ID as “ADECA Broadband Survey.” Community members will be asked to take a quick survey about internet access at homes but will not be asked for any identifying information.
“We encourage our members to participate in this survey and help ADECA get accurate information about the lack of high-speed internet availability across our service area,” Lacy said. “This will identify new locations where the need for high-speed broadband service is not known or identify areas where the cost of reliable internet is too high.”
