What is the Community Cupboard? 
The Community Cupboard is a free little pantry located at Cullman Electric Cooperative offices in Cullman and Addison. Cullman Electric Cooperative created it to support our members and neighbors facing food insecurity. Open to anyone in need, it operates on a “take what you need, give if you can” basis, allowing the community to come together to help ensure no one goes hungry.
Who can use the Community Cupboard?
Anyone is welcome to use the Community Cupboard. The pantry is free, open to the public, and available to individuals and families who may need extra food support — no sign-up or qualifications required. Simply take what you need, and if you are able, consider giving what you can to help support others in our community.
Where is the Community Cupboard?
The Community Cupboard is available 24/7 at Cullman Electric Cooperative’s Cullman and Addison offices, making access easy whenever it’s needed. Whether you’re stopping by during the day or after hours, the pantry is always open.

How can I donate to the Community Cupboard?
Donations to the Community Cupboard can be made at any time by dropping off items directly into the pantry at Cullman Electric Cooperative’s Cullman and Addison offices. Every contribution — big or small — helps support our members and neighbors and makes a meaningful difference in our community.
Helpful Donation Tips
- Avoid glass containers or items that can melt (especially in warm weather).
- Check expiration dates before donating.
- Think “grab-and-go” — items that don’t require cooking or can openers help most.
- Include a variety of nutritious options when possible.
- If you wouldn’t eat or use it yourself, it’s probably not a good fit for the pantry.
Recommended Donation Items
- Non-Perishable Food Items: Choose items that are shelf-stable, easy to open, and ready to eat.
- Canned meats (tuna, chicken, Spam, Vienna sausages)
- Canned soups, stews, or chili
- Canned vegetables and fruit (preferably pop-top lids)
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Boxed or pouch meals (mac & cheese, pasta, rice meals)
- Instant noodles or ramen
- Shelf-stable milk or milk alternatives (small boxes)
- Granola bars or protein bars
- Crackers or snack packs
- Breakfast items (instant oatmeal, cereal cups)
- Bottled water or small juice boxes
- Personal Hygiene & Toiletry Items: Small, individually packaged items are best for sharing and hygiene.
- Bar soap or body wash
- Shampoo and conditioner (travel or sample size)
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Deodorant
- Feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons)
- Razors and shaving cream
- Hand sanitizer or wipes
- Lotion or lip balm
- Household & Paper Products. Useful for families trying to stretch their budgets.
