Operation Round Up Delivers Paper to Local Schools 

The Operation Round Up Board has awarded a $45,000 paper grant to benefit students and teachers at Cullman County Schools, Cullman City Schools, Sacred Heart, St. Paul’s, St. Bernard, Cullman Christian, Meek, and Addison. This annual funding ensures classrooms are stocked with essential paper supplies, helping educators and students start the school year equipped for success.

“Each year, the Operation Round Up Board allocates paper for every school based on student enrollment and available resources,” said Board Chair Sandra Tucker. “Schools need paper for assignments, worksheets, and other instructional materials. We are proud to help meet these needs for local schools.”

The paper grant helps reduce financial strain on schools while ensuring each one receives equitable support. Distributions are tailored to student numbers, making sure resources are shared fairly among all participating institutions.

Since its start in 1993, Operation Round Up has invested more than $6.5 million into local schools, helping provide the tools and resources educators need to give students the best possible education.

Beyond the paper grant, the Operation Round Up Board meets five times during the school year to review and approve teacher-submitted grant requests. These additional grants are awarded based on available funds and the potential to directly enhance student learning.

Operation Round Up is made possible through the generosity of Cullman Electric Cooperative members and Cullman Power Board customers, who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills. Every cent collected is invested back into classrooms across Cullman and Winston counties.
